According to research conducted at Stanford University
in the US, mature people have as many positive feelings
as young people do.
Researchers also found when older adults felt down,
they bounce back more quickly than younger people.
The 184 older adults in the study weren't just
happy-go-lucky super positive oldies. The group
reported more complex emotions than the younger
people in this study.
The magnificent 184 reported both positive and
negative feelings at the same time. Their negative
feelings passed more quickly, while for the younger
people negative feelings tended to stay longer.
This idea surprised many experts and the results
of the research seemed to indicate emotional health
can improve with age.
